So this place seems fairly new to the neighborhood. Everything is very clean and shiny. There are legions of people working here, busily replacing trays of food, wiping up spills, working the counters and registers, etc. It's got a vibrant energy that you will not find at Whole Foods, Gristedes, or any other local grocer. They boast an extraordinarily broad range of foods, representing a spectrum of favorites from the former Soviet region. There are salads consisting primarily of beets, cabbage, mushrooms. There is a shawarma counter. There are cured meats and cheeses and a sprawling deli counter. You can find regional sweets, ranging from plombir to korivka to several flavors of halvah. It's an exciting trip and I wish this business well. It will be interesting to see how much of this diverse stock will still be on offer several months from now. While NYC is diverse, market forces are what they are and some of these flavors might be a bit obscure even for the West 4th crowd. We shall see :)
Excellent supermarket and brilliant selection and very reasonable prices. Quick service. The cashier was so kind to me and helped me get a bag (the Tashkent one) and the staff gave me cutlery. Good selection if you are looking for Russian or Lithuanian food too.
Tashkent is a tremendously amazing place. It offers a wide variety of foods, halal meat, and especially delicious Uzbek plov. Every time I visit, I feel at home, which is why I wanted to write something : On busy streets where lights don’t sleep, Tashkent feels close, traditions deep. Fresh bread, warm smiles, a familiar tone, A taste of home far from home. Between tall towers, cultures meet, In every aisle, Manhattan’s heartbeat. (2025)
Excellent grocery store! High quality European food with very very affordable price tag! Location is very convenient and close to few of my regular train lines. Will come back and thank you for opening a store in Manhattan Tashkent!
This is the most amazing store in New York. They have excellent food, delicious pastries, and outstanding products. I recommend everyone to come here and stock up — their prices are incredibly reasonable. It’s truly the best store I’ve visited in New York. I come here every week to buy groceries for myself and my family. They have wonderful, friendly staff who are always ready to help you at any moment. So I highly recommend visiting this store, doing your shopping, and leaving happy.
I used to “travel” all the way down to Brighton Beach for their food - so thrilled to have found it in Manhattan! The ultimate food paradise of “post-Soviet” regional cuisines - Russian, Ukrainian, Central Asian, all of it! And it’s truly tastes like home 🤩 huge love for the job you’re doing! …
